Please vote for us to open for COLDPLAY!!!! Voting ends this Thursday!!!
My band, The Absolute Zeros (www.myspace.com/theabsolutezeros) has the opportunity to open up for COLDPLAY in Philadelphia!!!! We submitted a video (along with hundreds of other acts) to 93.3 WMMR and were selected for the TOP 15! Now it is open to the public for voting! This is where we need your help! Voting ends this Thursday!!!
Please visit http://www.coldplayontour.com/wmmr/ and scroll down to the 8th video...they don't have any identifying info on the vids, but we're currently the 8th video, but it is subject to change, so look for this specific video:
You'll see on the video still a white guy in a blue t-shirt playing bass, a black guy playing bongos, and a bald dude wearing a Burger King crown taking a picture of us...yes, we have strange fans, haha .
Just click on the star rating (10 stars please!!!!) and that's it. Your vote will be counted. Some people have been experiencing issues with voting, but please keep trying! You can try different web browsers if necessary. Voting will end this Thursday, so please vote as much as possible to help us!
The top 3 bands will then be reviewed by Coldplay themselves and HAND PICKED to open for them in Philadelphia! We're currently in 5th place and trailing the 3rd place band by about 200 votes, so please keep those votes coming!
Thanks in advance and please help spread the word! This is such an incredible opportunity and we hope you'll help us out!!!

New Open Mic @ Tritone - Calling all bands, singers, rappers, hip hop artists, dancers, poets, comedians, etc!
The Tritone will be home to a new Tuesday night Open Mic (www.myspace.com/tritoneopenmic) hosted by The Absolute Zeros (www.myspace.com/theabsolutezeros). The AZs will be providing a full drum kit (drummers, please bring your own cymbals and snare) and bass rig, so full bands are encouraged to participate. For now the open mic will be the last Tuesday of every month, but if it's successful it will become a weekly event.
Tritone is one of the most diverse music venues in the city and we want this open mic to reflect that! Rappers, hip/hop artists, poets, singer/songwriters, full bands of any genre, dancers, etc are ALL WELCOME! NO COVER CHARGE!
All acts will get AT LEAST a 10 minute set.
Philly based internet raido station, Radio Volta (www.radiovolta.org), has graciously stepped up to the plate to sponsor the event. They will be offering an in-studio interview each month to the "Standout Performer" of the night as selected by Tritone staff (again, we're starting this off as a monthly event, but hope it will become a weekly open mic). In addition, South Street Sounds/Buddha Zen Studios (www.sssounds.com) will be offering some recording time!
For more information, please contact Steve at theabsolutezerosrock@yahoo.com and please mark your calendars for 5/27 (sign up begins at 7:30)
Post anything you want here
This is pretty much a community blog, so post whatever is going on with your music.
